This subcommittee of the Church in Society Ministry Team has the specialized focus of our ongoing partnership with the Seela congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Tanzania.
Born out of a year of prayer in 2007, a partnership has now been formed that finds expression in a number of ways. A priority remains the mutual uplifting of one another in prayer on Sundays in addition to a number of other projects that have been completed or just begun.
- The covenanted partnership has recently completed a "Pews for Seela" campaign. It provided pews with backs on them for the entire worshiping congregation.
- A new program, "Scholarships: Funding the Future" will assist with a number of scholarships for the youth of Seela Parish to attend schools. Simple $100 scholarships help open opportunities to continue in education for children of families with little.
- Delegations in 2010 and 2011 have allowed folks from Holy Cross to have personal contacts with those in the Seela Parish. It is an opportunity that is open to you!
