There is literally an old fashion Hope Chest in the hallway of the Gathering Place Fellowship Hall. It is a place to leave donated items that bring hope to the needs of many each year. Each month the emphasis for the Hope Chest changes to reflect a current need.
- One month we may gather items to send to soldiers in Afghanistan and the next month diapers to support young mothers with infants in the Northwest Trading Post.
- Then another month the collection might be for children's books used at the Milwaukee Rescue Mission and the next month gathering in items for Lutheran World Relief school supply or layette kits.
The needs are many and varied with our donations supporting a variety of local ministries that include the ones named above in addition to: Hebron House, Repairers of the Breach, Tanzania, Hope House, Serenity Inn, Waukesha Senior Interfaith Program, the Menomonee Falls Area Food Pantry and our own Micah's Closet.
