Lutherans Living Generously
This year we want to celebrate “Lutherans Living Generously” - focusing on how we share our time, skills and financial resources. Through our generosity we make our church, community and world a better place. While our congregation has responded to God’s abundant gifts and blessings in many wonderful ways, we can still challenge each other to learn how we can live more generous lives. Why? Because we are called to be generous givers of what God has first given to each of us. Our theme Bible verse is from the 9th chapter of 2 Corinthians (emphasis added):
Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.
