Eleanor Hoppe
Director of Church Administration
Eleanor was born in Detroit, MI, moved to Rochester, NY at age 3, and then to Southern California in 1980. After her kids empty-nested, she wanted to move back to the Midwest, and chose Milwaukee, landing here in early 2024.
Her undergraduate degree is from USC, where she studied International Relations, Political Science, Business and Russian. Eleanor went on to do a master’s in public policy at the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University. Her professional life has been mainly in university administration and program management. Her most recent job was as finance & operations manager for an academic consulting firm that focused on equity-minded practices for colleges, universities, and foundations. She spent three decades as a member, volunteer and elder at the First Presbyterian Church of Hollywood. She’s also a spiritual director, and facilitates a monthly program in contemplative practice for the organization Stillpoint.
Eleanor has three adult children: Nathan (in Chicago), Isaac (in Los Angeles) and Lily (in Vancouver, BC, Canada). She lives in Milwaukee with her cat Pancake. For fun, she enjoys walking with a camera – on the river or the lake or in the woods – and reading, listening to podcasts, doing word puzzles and playing candy crush. She hopes to do more kayaking.
