New Paragraph
The Mission Endowment Fund is now the Holy Cross Legacy Foundation!
Although the name has changed, our purpose remains the same: to receive, manage, and distribute gifts from congregants who wish to leave a lasting legacy at Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
Why the name change?
We believe this new name better reflects the important work the Foundation does on behalf of Holy Cross, our synod, and our wider community through the generosity of our members.
Why It Matters:
Foundation funds are vital to the long-term strength of our congregation. Your gift to the Holy Cross Legacy Foundation supports our church, our synod, and our community—and continues to make a difference for generations to come.
How Can I Give?
- Members may give through traditional legacy-planning tools such as wills, trusts, or as a beneficiary of a retirement account or life insurance. Individuals can also make gifts during their lifetime to see the impact they’ve made! Gifts not designated for a specific ministry area are added to the Endowment Fund.
- Those who include Holy Cross in their legacy planning are recognized with a commemorative fish displayed on the window wall by the Gathering Place.
What the Legacy Foundation Does:
The Board’s primary responsibility is to receive, administer, and distribute funds from direct contributions and planned estate gifts.
The fund is invested in a pooled-trust with other congregation’s funds so it can grow over time. A portion of the fund can be distributed annually and is distributed for causes at Holy Cross, our synod, and our wider community.
